The business leaders of Guadalajara, the third-largest metropolitan city of Mexico, expressed their interest in ICT, apparel, furniture, processed food, and import of decorative lights from Bangladesh during the webinar titled “Bangladesh & Mexico: Potentials & Opportunities” organized by the Embassy of Bangladesh in Mexico City on 13th January 2022 with the assistance of a local dignitary named Mr. Francisco Pena Manjarrez.
During the webinar, Ambassador Abida Islam made a presentation on the socio-economic developments of Bangladesh highlighting the potentials of important sectors like RMG, Pharmaceuticals, Health and Medical Equipment, IT, Jute products, Leather and Footwear, Light Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Equipment, processed Agro-based food, automobiles, ceramic, plastic and shipbuilding to the participants. She also elaborated on the investment-friendly policies of the Government including the lucrative investment incentives.
Over 32 participants from different sectors like construction, real state, cosmetics, production & distribution of salt, decorative lights, processed food etc. including members of local chambers of Guadalajara actively participated in the webinar and showed their keen interest to engage commercially with Bangladesh in the days ahead.
